Sorry for the very basic question I'm not sure which one is going I'm leaning towards the alternator.
Vehicle back ground:
2000 Jeep Cherokee. New motor. Battery is a little over a year old.
My jeep will start up just fine. But over the past two days sometimes when I crank it up my voltage will stay right at 12 then go up to 14 then drop to 9 and check gauge light will come on. When I check my voltage via a blue tooth obdII connector and the torque pro app it is saying right at 12 or 11 volts even when the check gauges light is on. When moving or just sitting the voltage won't climb or drop. Other times it acts normal. I have checked grounds and connections to alternator, battery and the block
I need to get this fix before I drive 3hrs home from college on Tuesday.
