Let's continue the honesty. If the same guy was clean cut, wearing presentable clothing, and a name tag/ID that represented the company he worked for and he spoke in a professional manner, would your redone have been the same?

Depends. Does the name tag say NCPIRG on it?

its just the way the world has turned out. I would've ran him off too. in the last yr my shop has been hit twice. now someone can stop and ask a stupid question and im writing dn tag #s
 
like I said before, when it comes to my family and home I find it hard to trust anyone. When they make themselves even more suspicious i.e. showing up unannounced, on a holiday, w/o proper ID, and unverifiable. Then yeah you had every reason to react the way you did. Maybe he, and his company, learned a lesson here and next time they will be able to provide more ways to be able to verify his legitimacy instead of just randomly showing up...
 
So the young man came back today and completed his evaluation.
He knocked on the door and then stepped into the yard before I got to the door. Very polite did his picture taking, measuring and left.

I would have done the same thing. They need to make arrangements with me if they need to see my property.
 
Same thing happened today at my dads house when I was cutting wood for him. The guy looked like a biker big long beard leather vest. My dad had said he switched insurance, but would have thought they would have made an appointment.
