OK, so, last year I built a shop. In the shop(24X30) I have two bay doors and a lift on one side. Te lift, that's my issue. It works great, but even being a hunkered down old man of 6'2 if I can stand straight up, I am constantly hitting my head, my shoulder, my back on something. It just doesn't go up high enough for me to walk under. Who here is similar in height, has the same problem. Thought about a hard hat, but that would only protect my noggin. Most things on the lift I can walk around pretty easy, but my 99 3500 crewcab fills the space front to back.

You’re not the only one. I have a forward lift, small cars and crossovers aren’t too bad but anything with real axles I’m always hitting my head on something, I’m a little shorter than you so it’s always my head

My dad was a mostly bald service manager. I could tell some days where bad by the cuts and bruises on his noggin.
The only thing worse is getting against hot exhaust with anything, including your head.

Bump cap......I'll have to look that up. Can't always wear the welding hood.

My lift "will" go up high enough, but a lot of times i do not want it that high. Those lift arms are extremely hard on the head. Especially when you "think" you have cleared them while ducking under them and raise up a little short of the goal! I too will have to look up Bump cap!

edit***Here you go Chip!

Bump hat, hmmmmm, I have never heard of this before, Kewl! Will be looking into this.

Steve, ( @89wrangler )you know I have had heart issues in the past, I skipped a couple beats when I saw the price! I did a quick search on EBAY and found some that I wouldn't have to take out a loan for!
Damn, and someone will actually pay that I am sure!
