Bought the ''new to me'' 2000 TJ back in late June early July.
Just had to replaced the clutch and a rebuilt transmission put in. Ouch, wasn't expecting to do this so soon.
Went ahead and changed frt and rear diff. fluid as well as transfer case fluid.
Next on the list in no particular order....New brakes all around...Rear upper coil spring plate replaced...change radiator and heater hoses...flush radiator...Tuneup...back off wheel stops, tires rub at full turn...I'm sure more will have to be done but all in good time.:driver:

It never ends.....I suppose you could just trade the TJ in for a super reliable camry with a car payment?

I feel for you, I bought an XJ a couple of months ago, and spent the better part of $2k replacing all wear items to make it a comfortable / reliable daily....but even at that price, it is still cheaper than a car payment.

First thing that pops to mind...

Are you replacing the coil spring bucket on the frame side? If so, and you plan to wheel this Jeep, I recommend relocating it so it’s straight down and not at the funky angle. It makes for a better ride and will flex better by not binding the spring when it droops. But it’s a little involved.

If it says Jeep, it’s gonna cost a fortune!

I might run over the curb at the mall. I don't plan any thing major as far as trails are concerned.
So I'll most likely look at putting in back in the factory position.:)

Geez, I hate to think how much stuff I need to do on my 2001 TJ. Probably everything you mentioned and more.

Luckily it's not my DD anymore so I can afford to let it sit in the garage.

I am today finishing the install of rebuilding the engine in my kids 99 tj. 1K in parts and machine work, then there is my labor..

I like my jeeps and my women the same. 20 years old with lots of issues..
