Really sucks for him, but doesn't bother me that much. I'll be honest, I had to Google it just to be sure. I know all about Syria, but drew a blank on Aleppo. Of course, I'm not running for president.

On the flip side, Clinton would have probably just had a coughing fit and not answered the question and Trump would have just said to build a wall around it without knowing what it really was.

I've never heard the name spoken aloud, only written. For some reason my brain calls Alpeppo...it was strange to hear it pronounced right and then re-read the word to see I'm just an idiot. Sort of how I used to pronounce Hermione in my head while reading Harry Potter and then actually hear it said during the movies took some adjusting.

Either way he looks totally foolish, but no one voting for him will care anyways.

Stein isn't a threat to anyone's status quo. There is no need for it to be disproportionately reported.

No man, that's where my favorite Middle Eastern peppers come from (well, grown in Turkey, named after Aleppo). Aleppo peppers are awesome (no joke). Have some in my spice cabinet right now from Penzey's.

Personally who gives a damn about Syria... How bout the good ole USA issues we have going on? we fork out millions we don't have in foreign aide every year to countries that I guarantee if we're invaded won't come help us defend our shores!! But hey he don't have a chance in hell of being prez anyway he's nota millionaire!
 
I personally have to respect the man for admitting he didn't know.He could have lied or made up some bullshit answer or completely dodged the question but he didn't. Doesn't look good for someone wanting to be president but major props(from me anyway) for bein thruthful.
 
It was a stupid way to ask the question. I listen to NPR programs, BBC, etc and while the topic of the city of Aleppo comes up quite often the larger topic is always the Syrian conflict. I would akin that to asking about the problem of "Ferguson" when referring to the larger issue of race relations in the US.

Regardless of whether they caught him off guard I will say that I was disappointed that his answer was complete runaround BS.
