Just put my daughter's truck on CL last night and before I went to bed I had my first offer to be paid with PP and have a shipping company pick it up! I feel so lucky.......

If they want to send me a check I always have them send it to the local sherrif dept. The funniest part is when they say I have ripped them off and are goin to call the police on me.They never seem to have a reply when I tell them to google the name and address they sent the check to.

Haha I had a truck on there that I sold tuesday but just got a text from them and done this!!! LOL thanks for the idea!!

One time I kept it goin long enuf for their "shipper" to show up.Id like to have been a fly on the wall at the SD.:D

I normally just send them a link to the CL "avoiding scams" page.
I never get a reply back after that.

Dude has texted me 3 more times asking me "what is final amount I will accept" after I stopped communicating.

Gah I'm so glad that I finally sold my silverado.. I despise selling via craigslist but it gets your item out to a lot of people. I had a similar experience with a persistent scammer but idk what I hate more.. scammers or fucking lowballers.

I wanted to be the dude that pestered you for info. Got real excited about the purchase. Then two days later hit reality and confess I am broke and cannot afford the truck. I spared you the trouble.

I wonder if the shipped is in cahoots w the scammer or is he a legit dude just tryin to make a livin??Does he get paid via check too?? I've always wanted to see/meet the shipper but wasn't willing to give out my address to do so.

Well, a guy from Indiana is flying in to buy it Sunday (no really) and I have his deposit.

He says that all his buddies come to the south to buy trucks cause they are so rusty up there.

Probably so! I have a Independent Dealer friend, that has been selling Wholesale autos, to a couple Yankee dealers, for several years. They'll pick up 5-10 at a time, & Give him the 1-2 rust buckets, they drove to his place!

Had a dude fly in to buy an accord one time. Happens quite a bit. Hate to see that thing go up to rust land. Such a nice truck

He says he is going to baby it. He also said there is some type of treatment they have done to things they want to protect that keeps them from rusting.

That's horse poo....you can only prolong the amount of time before they rust in to a pile of shit!

A guy at work just sold a 99 reg cab 7.3 F350 SRW 4x4 to a guy from Maine....he came down here and drove it back. Going to use it for a plow truck. Such a shame...it wasn't perfect, but it had zero rust!

To keep the cycle going, they come down here, buy our mostly rust free trucks, and in a few years, we drive up north and buy a trailer load of 1 ton axle sets and bring them back down here :D Circle of life and what not...

The fellow called me and said the truck did great on the trip back and that he loves it.

We found my daughter the perfect car from a couple moving out of the country.
A 2003 Civic sedan, auto with all power, only 105K miles.
