Another 304 Rear Main? - Do I need to loosen the caps?

I am struggling getting the new upper rear main in my 304, the rear cap is off, do I need to loosen the rest of them?

It is upside down on an engine stand right now

That would make it a little easier. However, I have nearly always been able to work it in without loosening the others.

This one is fighting me, I botched the 1st seal, I get to try again today

When I changed the rear main in that engine (some 20+ years ago), pretty sure I loosened the last 2 caps and used a bit of liquid soap on the seal... don't forget to re-torque ALL of them.
