Another Covid thread

I just noticed while looking at the NIH website that they have not recommended or advised against ivermectin but say it has not been fully tested. Ivermectin has saved countless lives from bad parasite infections in South America and Africa and has shown promise against viruses but the mechanism isn’t fully understood. It is believed to weaken the virus enough that our natural defenses can kill them. Pretty interesting rabbit hole if you’re so inclined. It is very safe in humans.

They do not recommend Hydroxychloroquin which depending what you read can be helpful and was responsible for saving a lot of lives from malaria. It is also used in rheumatoid arthritis treatment to stop swelling. Some other countries use it in their covid regimen and continue to do so. It is a safe drug that has been used for decades, interesting they don’t recommend it.

Quite paradoxically they don’t recommend Azithromycin but I think I understand that antibiotics for a virus are pointless. What Azithromycin does and did for me personally was kill the pneumonia that was a secondary infection from the virus.

Just as an FYI I asked my daughter to bring home a rapid test for me yesterday just out of curiosity. She did and it was negative. No masks and no vax for me and my covid experience was almost 17 months ago.

I went through a time where I was getting mandatory testing and “popped hot” 4 separate times. I never had so much as a sneeze out of the ordinary. I have had both of the Pfizer shots. First dose made me feel like I was recovering from my 21st birthday. Second dose was like nothing happened. I have not changed my lifestyle one single bit and do not where a mask unless asked to in businesses that require it.

Pretty much sums it up for me too👍

My gf just tested positive Tuesday, Monday night she had fever of 101, Tuesday morning it was 100, tested later that day and was positive. I informed my work and am waiting the 5 days before getting tested myself Friday but I’m gonna guess it’ll be positive considering she was kissing on me Monday night with that fever. She’s currently just coughed a little here and there, still has the fever and gets the chills every now and then, mostly flu like so far.

Isn’t all the hype on ivermectin all based on one study where lethal doses showed some improvement on viral loads in a Petri dish

All of my college students seem to be getting it or isolating due to contact tracing leaving my classes somewhat sparse. Masks are required in class and indoors. Being the first couple weeks of classes, there is no doubt the virus is spreading via off-campus activities.

Classic…I remember my college days. Sneezing and coughing all over the ladies certainly occupied a good bit of my time.

No, seriously man that dirt in Japan has much potential. Read up on it and make up your own mind but it’s an amazing thing.

Search “ivermectin for viruses”.

It’s anti-parasite value is already well know but the research into its use on viruses is ongoing. Plus, it has been proven to be 100% safe….and you wont have heartworms or intestinal worms 😬

My advice if she’s not super sick is high doses of B and C plus fever management. Prayers.

Thank you sir, we appreciate it. Taking her to get some sort of shot that her sister told her about, I forget what it’s called but apparently it’s supposed to help you recover quicker from the virus and keep it from hitting you as hard, my understanding is it’s a shot for once you’ve gotten the virus so it’s not the vaccine

Remdezivir?

Remdezivir?
It’s a monoclonal antibody therapy, regen-cov….I haven’t actually read up on it any. Her sister sent her a link and she’s read up on it and decided it’s something she wants to do

Figured it was one of the 2. I'm not sold on its effectiveness in my clinical setting since my pts are pretty sick already. I'm hearing decent results if its given early. Who knows what the actual numbers are though.

I was just reading up on it a little, I’m a little skeptical seeing how it’s still investigational and effectiveness and side effects are not yet fully known. But she’s read it and decided to give it a go so I guess I’ll be seeing first hand how it helps or doesn’t help in her situation

Lets take that too that we don't know a ton about for side effects, but the vaccine is the devil!

and yet despite that the FDA gave it an EUA quicker than they did the vaccine.
That's the counter argument to it over vaccine.

Ive got a practicioner in the family who strongly encouraged it but I ahvent (yet) listened. I have until tomorrow.
