Another "name that part" game

Did the mustang injector swap on my XJ this weekend and found a "part" under the hood that wasn't connected to anything (yes, this was before I started messing around under the hood).

The cable was attached to the rear (near the firewall) fuel rail bolt. One end has a plug with three prongs and the other end of the cable has an enclosed metal piece.

Thanks. Now, is my Jeep suffering for not having one?

Edit: Just went and checked and the engine does have one. The previous owner must have left this old one under the hood as a "spare".

Well yeah, CPS, I think we have all replaced one of those lol...

But how is the injector swap treating you?

I would have to say that I can honestly feel the difference. It might just have been that my injectors have 240k miles on them when they were pulled, or the Mustang injectors actually do help the XJ.

Overall the swap took about an hour. I would recommend that you check any purchased o-rings very, very carefully, before installing. After installing, cranking, and panicking when I saw fuel spraying all over the engine, I pulled the injector out and could see that the new o-ring was misshaped.

It wouldnt run with out the CPS installed , I would say that was a bad one that never got remove when replaced, its common for them to go out.
