I'm running a 35X12.5X15 BFG MT tires on a 10" wide wheel because I was told that this is the best way to run these tires. I called the local 4x4 store to price new tires and they told me I need to be running an 8" wide wheel.

What is your opinion on this and why?
Thanks in advance,

8" wheels will hold a bead better when aired down. I bought my wheel/tires used, but it looks like the 35x12.5 BFG MTs are mounted on 8" wheeels. I previously ran 33x12.5 on 7" rims.

you just need to watch the center of the tread closely, it will be easy to overinflate, since the rim will pull the outer edges down and in.

They want you to buy new wheels along with your tires. For Daily Driving you typically want to stay 2-4" under your tire width. This is for safety and tire wear for highway driving. I run 33x12.50 's on 10 inch wide rims - no problem.

I don't air down below 15 psi when off roading.
