Mine was stolen, looking to pick up a new one. Probably 16', dual axle. Any deals out there? I'm finding them between $2k and $2400. Any local businesses to support that you guys like?

I like Kraftsman, just ordered an 18' solid deck, dual axle from them this week. They are swamped with orders though, told me it would be 5-6 weeks before it was done. We have 4-5 Kraftsman trailers and they have all been great.

Their standard 18' solid deck dual axle is $2,285 and 16' is $2,185.

I've got a 20' gooseneck from Kaufman. They are awesome to deal with and I'm very happy with the quality of their work.

I had a Kaufman and liked everything about it but the steel deck...which was my mistake as I ordered it that way - DOH.

The salesman I dealt with was great and would not hesitate to buy from them again.

My Kaufman is what was stolen, so I am a fan. I checked out their site and the prices are pretty competitive.

Myself and another friend of mine got ours through carolina trailer in rock hill sc. They built right there. I have 0 complaints about mine. Its got a ton of miles on it and no problems. Think I paid right at 1800 for mine. 18' dual axle dove tail.

kaufman in lexington build on spot just got a 6x12 for the mower a few months ago. and i have a 16 ft full metal deck i bought used three years ago def my favorite trailer.

like this thread needs anymore kaufman +1 posts, but its all I got.
I was impressed when last year at DPG ECORS race when a guy came up to me while I was standing on my trailer, asked how I liked it. I said it was great no complaints. He said he was some kind of supervisor there, but not a higher level manager, and began pointing out improvements they've made since my model year (more gussetting on the spare tire bracket was one I rememeber). He obviously cared about delivering a quality product.

Another one to consider would be Hudson. They're in the Charlotte area. They are very well built. We have a 3 axle equipment trailer that has seen a lot of abuse before and after we bought it. Only problem is theyre heavy.

Kaufman is still my #1 choice though. I looked at pretty much every brand and design of car hauler and Kaufman was by far the best designed and best built. They've improved them some since I bought mine too. Mine's a 2008 18' steel deck with 4k axles.

I have a Kraftsman 30' gooseneck and have been very happy with it. Would def buy one again.

Also, i believe the guys who run Kraftsman and Kaufman are brothers??? Or somehow related. Trailers are very similar. Could be incorrect on that though.

Yeah, something like that. The story I remember is that they used to work together and parted ways.

Whatever you do, I'd recommend "upgrading" to 16" wheels. Then you can just run regular E rated truck tires instead of those 15" trailer tires.

Cool, that's something to keep in mind.

Kraftsman. Top notch group, and would let me custom build the trailer exactly the way I wanted. Kaufman makes a good trailer and had good customer service, but they were hesitant doing anything outside their normal range. Here's my last trailer. Great job on everything.

This is a sweet trailer. I've owned a Kaufman and I have to say they are nice trailers but after seeing JR's, I would probably lean towards a Kraftsman next time.

What's the trailer place in Granite Falls? Can't remember the name, but I've seen a few and pulled at least one. Good stuff too.

X2 that is a good looking trailer. Hudson bros does make a good trailer too but not sure how they are on custom orders or anything, they use C-channel for there frames. I would stay away from any trailer that has just and angle frame, seen many of those flex so much the trailer just rips apart as it goes down the road but any trailer we used was on the road 6 days a week

Dunno about deals, but another happy Kaufman owner here going on 6 yrs. Bought it new from them.

Kaufman

I have a 20+2 diamond deck bought new in 2006.

Looked at Kraftsman in '06, weld quality was hit or miss on the trailers on the lot. Not impressed by bubblegum on a trailer. Hopefully they are better now. Look carefully (at any trailer you buy).

T&W Trailers is what you are thinking. He is in Hudson and you will not find a better price. I just had him build in the spring of 2012. It's a 28 ft with spare tire, spring assisted ramps and LED's for $4700. He will build it how you want it.

I also have a Kraftsman 16 ft car hauler all steel deck and it's a great trailer too. The only complaint I had with Kraftsman is the trailer came with passenger car tires. The owner swore to me that I didn't need a trailer tire pulling that low of weight....and yes I had told him I would be towing a truck around.

Really? Only 4700? My uncle has a dual axle utility trailer from T&W. Nice trailer. I'll have to give them a call!
