It's not quite as "hardcore" as that, but have you heard Trans-Siberian Orchestra's version on one of their Christmas CD's? Amazing...
 
I like the first vid most. But both are awesome. Definitely a young guy with classical background. Kinda reminds me of the movie "Crossroads"
Lots of discipline and string time.

anybody here ever heard rusty barkley play? hes on 99.7 every once in a while, and me and a few friends go watch him every week at midtown sundries in cornelius. he is as good as it gets.

He plays that song on what's called a Harp/Guitar where there's a 4 string harp coming off a six string accoustic guitar in a sort of dual neck configuration. I swear sometimes he sounded like he was more than one person playing. Shame he was taken out by a car wreck, far too young.

Rusty is awesome, I try to get down to the double door on thurs. at least once a month to watch part time.

Any of you musicians ever heard of robert randolph jr? Plays a pedal steel like no other. He freakin rocks! Check him out if you ever get the chance.
