I've got some questions if some one has the answers for gym related questions....

I guess more of health questions related to the gym....

I'm currently practicing weight lifting and muscle gain and have been taking different supplements to help gain muscle and help with my joints, however, I am becoming unsatisfied with the brand I am taking and am interested in what others have recommend.

I have been using Omega Shreads for my joints, and Beverly Creatine Select. I have also taken the HD toner supplement. All of these came recommended by different trainers and I just need something more up my alley.

Any suggestions?

Any and all usp supps. A gmc sport daily vitamin has abo.ut everything else you need. Are you trying to build mass or shred/tone? Pm your workout regime to me.

I used Animal Pak Mulitvitamin and a Whey protein. That worked for me.

BUT, what works from me prob will not work for others, and vice versa. Just try some different ones over a period of 3-4 months and see which works best for you.

Whey protein powder works to build muscle mass. Use 30 min-1hr before workout, and immediately after workout. Six Star brand at Wal-mart is very affordable.

eat right. Take a daily vitamin and put everything else down.

Stretch. Cardio. Exert force. Stretch. Rest.

Do this 3 days a week.

Exert force can be weight lifting, kettle bells, x-fit, swimming, what ever kind of training you are doing.

Probably not the most popular answer but real food, the healthy type, seems to produce the best results. Check the status of most of those "cool supplements" from five years ago, or better yet, see if they are still being sold and what lawsuites were filed against them. Stuff like whey protein powders seem to be OK. But do not believe the hype, do your research. Sure some of those products my give you gains but at what cost? I had a friend almost die during a deployment a few years back from using "Ultimate Orange". He had to be MEDAVAC'd out of country via aircraft. Not saying they all are bad but I would research the heck out of it before I put in my body.

Eat right. Take protien if you want. I get mine from eating properly though. IE fish and the likes.

Something i seen in person on Bragg. Lift properly / correctly. I have seen a few Rats lift incorrectly and then here a pop and they are not back in the gym for awhile.

And yep. Get your vitamins from the fresh foods you eat. There is not a better source.

I have been weight lifting for 30 years now. Even competed as a body builder for several years and won alot of competitions. Eating smaller meals every 2-3 hours to put on mass worked for me. A meal can be as simple as a weight gain shake. As for supplements I use glucosamine for joints and liquid complex carb drink prior to working out. Key is to not over train. you do not grow in the gym. You grow outside of the gym.

If you're thinking about some type of diet, go full on paleo. Very tasty, no starving.

Def have to research supps. I've known a few people like that, mostly fat people that shouldn't have been deployed anyway.. let alone taking supps for muscle.. start taking supps, not drinking water.. boom- game over.

Whey fucked up my digestive tract for about a year. Overloads your bodys lactase production, gives you the shits and gas cramps every time you eat anything with lactose afterward. I'm mostly back to normal now, but I couldn't even eat ice cream without a lactase pill before and after.

what kind were you on? I take the GMC whey, lactose free.. It's decent stuff, minimal calories and no sugar. Still get 30g a scoop. Just a little pricey. they have some cheaper stuff that's lactose free. That sucks though... hell..

Simple whey protein, fish oil, multivitamin, on top of eating correctly. Get plenty on sleep, cannot stress that enough. Typically I practice a calorie deficient diet on days I don't work out, and slightly more on days I do. But, I'm in the process of loose weight/gain muscle, seems to work well for me. High protien diet, lots of fruits, veggies, meat. Results may vary, what works for one, may not work for another.

Vienna sausage and cold chef boyardee spaghetti is how I roll!

This. If you're really working hard at the gym and building muscles then you're just not going to get all of the essential fats, vitamins and enough usable protein by shopping the vegetable aisle. Unless you can eat 10 or 12 meals a day...
I'm talking a multivitamin, fish oils and whey protein though...not gimmicky shit.
They do make lactose free protein but it is quite a bit more expensive.

What would a healthy diet consist of for someone who hates chicken & fish?

Turkey. But you need to try different spices to make them all edible. You'll actually acquire a taste for some of it if you try.
Harris Teeter has chicken sausages that are good. Lemon Pepper seasoning for chicken is one of my favorites. Also taco and creole seasoning is good.

My kids are some picky eaters, but when I make grilled chicken breast, you'd think I was serving them candy. Get some boneless skinless chicken breast and marinate it in italian dressing. I like to use Zesty Italian. Put the chicken and the italian dressing in a ziplock back and put it in the fridge for 3 days. Then, grill until it's firm not spongy. Flip it over twice per side during grilling rotating for the second turn. I remember I made this at a Core4x4 cookout and Wes was eating them with his fingers because he didn't want to slow down and cut them with a fork. That may just be how he eats normally though....
