Any ideas as to how to help a dove that nested in our palm tree?

There's a mourning dove that nested in our palm tree and laid a couple eggs and I was wondering what (if anything) we can do to help protect her? The tree is small (about 9' or so) and the fronds are delicate, with the high winds we've been having I see the nest sway up and down and back and forth wildly and I feel bad for the poor little mama dove. We already have had a robin die due to nesting in the same spot- we only know it was there because the nest fell and one of our doxies killed the robin. (didn't know it was there until one day we found a nest on the ground and a robin that had obviously been attacked next to it and our dogs are the only critters other than birds that get in our yard (6' privacy fence fully around the yard)) How tolerant are mourning doves to human interaction? Any ideas? (I just don't want the doves to suffer the same fate as the robin!)

frankenyoter- I guess I'll just hope for the best then!
GONOVRIT- lol!!!! I don't see how there'd be much more than a bite to taste, it's a tiny little bird!
Thanks y'all!

They are typically lousy nest makers. Most of the time it's just a loose pile of sticks and eggs and chicks often fall through to the ground. I'm pretty sure they mate at least 3 or 5 times each year so they should have some chicks that will make it if this time they don't.

Why not tie the tree down? I just planted a cherry tree and ran a couple strands of sea grass from the tree to the ground with a couple of stakes. At least that will keep it from whipping too bad.
