iam looking to buy a 24x26 carport in the next couple of days. Figured I would see if anyone on here is in the business before I go to one of the many places in Shelby. Hwy 74 Shelby to Forrest City must be the utility building and metal carport Mecca but with my luck I would end up at the worst possible place to buy from.
Thanks.

Nah that’s still Mount Airy. Lol. Every corner is a Carport warehouse and every other house has a dually with “insert Mexican last name here” Installations on the side.

little pointers... for a carport that big, if you buy it from the "normal" places, just make sure you get the bracing (A frame style) even if you don't buy the A frame (I hope that made sense). Most 24 wides don't come with all the center braces and corner braces unless you ask/pay for it, only the A frame ones do but that is def something you want. If you went lets say to the guy I worked for here in Hickory, they cost more, they are thicker material but you will wait 3months or so to get it. The main one out of Mt. Airy will get to you quicker than anyone else but you gotta watch em...they make their money being in and out not being precise!! AND you gotta watch some of these corner lots selling carports will tell you it's 14g tubing but it's actually 15...seen it many times. Good luck in your search. That's the best advise I can give

I was looking at the the ones from this section. The lady in Shelby that I talked to sent me a picture of the pricing. The company they buy from was from Asheville I believe??

dang that's cheap for 24x24 vertical style...go for it. spend more money buying extra tubing on your own for extra bracing if they don't offer the extra...it's worth it with the winds and "possible" snow load we saw last year LOL. if it's in the budget, get everything 4ft OC rather than 5ft...that alone ads a lot of extra beef.

I’d actually thought about buying more tubing and tying the legs together, frame side walk through doors and one end to take a roll up door. Also having the gables closed in and the sides done. Iam having it placed right in front of my shop door for more work area.
I do appreciate the tips @marty79

Quality Commercial Structures

That’s the company on the picture of the price sheet she sent. Ever hear any nightmares about them?
sorry so late, I don't get on the computer much these days. I haven't heard about them so couldn't tell you.
The idea of tying the legs together is great option. I did it to my 20x20 on both sides from bottom of one leg to top of the next and even with some really crazy winds that come into it (closed on 3 sides now) doesn't budge a bit. I also put mine 4ft on Center and welded in the top 12ft braces...this makes the biggest difference of all. Even tack them in the corners and leave them screwed in does the job.
The lateral 10-12ft braces that go across each truss are screwed in place usually with little thin L brackets and few screws. If you hang from one and do some pull ups, you can still see the whole truss give some (I weigh 184) but once I welded them in, I can pull up and bounce on them and don't move at all. These things are so flimsy for what they are so ANY bracing you put in will drastically improve the strength. 10-12ft on the trusses, 3-4ft on the corners, brace in between each leg will/should get your 24wide to hold up to most abuse.

There are tons of places that will throw up a carport, not all are created equal. It’s been 7 years since I bought the carport, but I believe the manufacturer was Cardinal Carports. From what I was told at the time, they manufacture the roofing for multiple carport companies. The difference being that some of the other companies use smaller gauge materials for the legs and bracing.
Consider paying a little extra for vertical ribs instead of horizontal on the roof, it’ll allow snow and debris to slide off easier.
