Any Nissan Guys Out There?

A buddy of mine has a 1996 Nissan pickup 4 cyl 5 speed and has an interesting issue. Speedo quit working so he changed the speed sensor. No fix. Brought it to me and I found the gear on the output shaft in the transfer case will spin freely on the shaft. It look like the transfer case has to be split to get to this little plastic gear. It going to take a minute to tear all this apart. My Question is anybody out know where I can get a diagram of how this thing breaks down before i blindly tear into it. An exploded view of the T-case would do. I believe the assy #is 3311046 But have had no luck searching online. Any help would be appreciated. Especially if any one else has delt with the same issue.
Thanks,
Chad

never split the case of a 4cyl, but the tx-10 on the 6cyls are no trouble at all. just make sure you get all of the shift bearings (i think they are called....they tell the sensors what range you are in and lock in the detents on the shift rails) out and it'll pull right apart.

good luck!

this is from a 01 service manual. hoping it helps.

houdini, do you know what the differences in the 2 cases are? Always heard their different, but never why or how

After doing a little digging, it seems as though the 4cyl and 6cyl both have variations of the TX-10 tcase. (Same as pictured above.)

Difference in the two is the spline count on the input and rear output. I also read the oil gutters are different, but I can not confirm that.

Older (80's model) Nissans had a divorced tcase.
