My wife has an 05 2.5 Altima. The check engine light came on and it was runnin crappy so I went and had it scanned. The scanner was givin a PO335 code which is the crankshaft position sensor.
I went to Nissan and bought the sensor($33) and in about two hours had it running again. That was last Thur.We drove it all weekend with no problems, but today my wife called to tell me the CE light was back on and it was running poorly like before.I had it rescanned and it gave the same code(PO335).What is the chances of another bad sensor or is there something Im over looking.I checked the plug in for the sensor and as near as I could tell is was not damaged.
I have looked at all the Nissan forums and it appears this is a very common problem with these cars.Nissan is not near the car the Honda we had before it was.We bought this car new with only 7 miles on it(4 of em we out on it) and it has been one recall after another.

There was a recall on that last year if I'm not mistaken. All 02-06 2.5 Altimas and Sentras (over 600,000 cars were recalled). You shouldn't have paid for that if that's correct.

Since around 00 ish or so Nissan has not put out the same quality product they used to. They have been plagued with emissions/electronic issues along with a few small others issues here and there.

I had read that and made the service guy run my VIN to see if it was covered and it was not.
