Any opinions/ideas?

Got a '97 Nissan Hardboy Extended Cab and I'm wanting to beef up the sound system. Mainly listen to country & rock, but every once in a blue moon I'll switch over to something with a little more thump in it. Got some friends that recommend the bass tubes, just wondering how good these things are? Would put in subwoofers, but I like using the extra cab space for camping gear/tube doors. Anybody got any opinions or other ideas/options?
