Any powerstroke mechanics

Ive got A 97 powerstroke and on start up just when cold Im getting alot of white smoke and rough idle for about 3 to 4 min. Any suggestions ?

Ive replaced glow plugs, and the injection pump.

My 96 did the same thing but cleared out after it came up to temp,just always contributed it to hi-mileage,over 300K.

It has 290 on it Im was leaning towards the injectors but I would like to find somebody I can trust to look at it.

Have you checked the glow plug relay to make sure its working?
Mine was smoking like crazy and hard to crank. I replaced the bad glow plugs along with a Stancor-Rogers (586-902) glow plug replay and its cranking much easier and idling a lot smoother with less smoke.

I replaced the relay I will check and make sure it is working. Thanks

My 02 was the same.I replaced all the injectors and it fixed it.Mine had 265,000

Thats what I was leaning towards. I talked to A friend of mine he said he has seen other trucks do it and it was a sensor but couldnt remember what the sensor was called.

If I remember correctly, Isnt this the version with the glow plug wiring harness that runs through the valve cover gaskets?
Seems like my old service truck was doing the same as yours and that was the issue.
