Its been a few months (August or September) since I've jumped. Just renewed my license and I've got the itch. Weathers been crappy and way too cold to enjoy it. Spring will be here before you know it and I was just curious where you guys jump locally, what kind of equipment you use, and so on.

This was at skydive Arizona trying out my new helmet with the cool guy tinted shield. I feel like some kind of starship trooper every time I wear it. Had a blast.

That's down in Chester right? I've thought about going there. I have family not too far away.

Yep! Thats the one! Ive been wanting to do it again but I dunno if I could muster up the courage again! I said a few years back, but hell now that I think about it, that was in the '90s and I was in my early 20's

It's fun to take people fishing on lake oliphant there that don't know about the skydive center. Nice and peaceful then people start falling out of the sky. "Red Dawn!"

I'd like to go all in and really get into it, but damn it's expensive. Chute rental, lift tickets, lunch, beer, another beer. I have a B license but I rent a chute each time. My buddy bought a chute last year, keep in mind he's a trust fund baby, but that thing cost $7000. I say again $7000. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want to spare any expense when it comes to my life, but I don't have that kind of money for ANOTHER hobby. If the weather clears up I've got something lined up first week of March. Looking forward to it.

My wife done the indoor ParacleteX thing down in Raeford awhile back, said it was really neat and wasn't too terribly cost prohibiting.

Now I want to para sail or para glide..... Whatever this is...

but you wanna talk about an expensive hobby....

I did my first jump at Raeford then 2 more at skydive Arizona also, planned to continue with it and get my license but the cost was too much. Broke and just out of college then, now I have too many other things going on. I always wanted to try wingsuits once I had enough jumps.

You are looking at about 10k for a good full set up. Raeford myself. Live right behind the DZ.

We used to take family ski trips to Austria. My mom didn't ski, but she used to do a tandem parasail where they ran off the side of the mountain and it lifted you up. There were a ton of thermals and you could stay up there for ever if you hit them right.

I would take pictures of her taking off then ski my ass off all the way down about a 5 mile run and try to catch her in time to get picts of her landing.

actually looking into it it's not as expensive as I thought..... guess I need to go do a few tandems and see if I wanna spend the coin on my own set up. I know theres a place in Boone that they do it regularly
