This is the well at our house we just bought. One of the fittings leaks, the electrical is obviously not up to par, and you can see that the top is open, which could let contaminants drop in.

Anyone on here in the Concord area do this type of repair?

Also, I'm curious how deep it is, but don't see any tags. Any other way to find out?

Do I see brass, steel, and pvc all on the same line? No wonder it's leaking. Need some dielectric fittings in there...

To find out how deep it is, check with your local AHJ. They usually require a permit o construct a potable water well. It would also list the driller of record, date, depth, etc.

Take an audio recorder, start it recording, tap one time on the top of the steel casing and measure time from original impact to echo, divide by two and multiply the speed of sound in ft/s. It'll get you close.

looks like the 6" I used to have at my first house, except mine wasn't all rusty. Mine was probably in that age bracket, when the foot valve gave out.
Just what you wanted to hear! Anyway, City water was available, & was a better option, than the Fix.

There's a place off 200 in Locust that does well work as well as one in Stanfield on Main Street. We always did our own repairs and used them for parts but this are the only places I know of near you.

I had made a set of plates to use to pull well pumps for a plumber buddy, basically a u cut in a piece of 3" 1/4 flat bar with a hole at one end (it had a gate to keep it from sliding out the side of the u)... Add a come along and a place to hang it from and you could take all day to pull it and not worry about it slipping.. you really shouldn't have lift it but a few inches to replace the gland and the tee. Pm sent with my plumbers number.

I'd see no reason why Concord is too far for them...almost everyone uses Derry's Well Drilling out of Albemarle here. They do good work. If you need any significant work done on it, he's the one to call.

Every time I read the title for this thread I just think: "I'm doing quite well, thanks!".
