I didn't want to hijack HGSR's whitewater thread, so here's one for flatwater.

We bought a couple of 16ft SOT kayaks and took our first trip to Jordan yesterday. We have rented a few times in the past, and decided to buy our own boats.

Anybody else like to paddle the lakes? Maybe want to meet up at Harris or Jordan sometime?

We just picked up a 16ft canoe and took our first trip out to Jordan this weekend too. We spent about 5 hours exploring the Robeson Creek area. Had a great time, but am unbelievable sore today

Ive had a 12 footer for 2 years now, and really havent used it much. Have had a hard time finding people to paddle with. I have a Perception Carolina 12. I love the thing. I do a fair amount of backpacking so most of my camping gear is designed to be lightweight and small, so I can pack for days in the Carolina 12

I've got an emotion comet that I won from an Anheuser Busch giveaway. Im down near lake wylie and love to slip it in a cove and bream fish with the ultralight in it. Not really much in paddling just to paddle around though

I have a Heritage Redfish that I fish out of in the sound and surf. Love going out through the breakers, mainly to drop baits. Kinda scary seeing dark objects swimming under ya but the Hatteras sleigh rides are awesome. Flipped at Cape Point and that was rough getting back in the yak. Alos have 1.25 million candlepower of underwater light for flounder gigging as well.

Ive got a single seater liquid logic that i love, but it seems like my tandem mad river adventure adventure canoe sees more action.
I prefer river runs to lakes though....im lazy ;)

I paddle a Widerness Systems tempest 16.5, Sundance 14, and a Swifty 9.5. I'm in Sc and paddle a good bit.

I got on a friends kayak the other day near Masonboro Island. Sure makes me want one. Not going to cover the water like I can in my boat, but it sure beats the heck out of putting gas in the truck and the boat. Boat gas is small beans compared to the truck when you have to tote it an hour each way to the water!

I am thinking nucanoe. For fishing/duck hunting the swamp.
