Anybody going to the DBT show in charlotte tomorrow?

Figured I check. I know a lot of us listen to this kind of music. I havent been a huge fan of their newer stuff but I haven't seen them live since 05 or 06 when they played st patricks day in columbia.
 
Well if I’d known they were there then I’d be a yes as it is, nope.

They haven’t been the same without Isbell imo

I agree. My favorite songs are all his. Should have posted when we bought tickets. I think they were only $25 for neighborhood theater.
 
Fwiw, Allman Betts band is coming up soon too. Cant remember if its oct or nov.
 
DBT is one of those acts that really makes me struggle to separate entertainment from my core beliefs.
Hood (and Isbell too for that matter) are as Liberal as you can get and about as far left as you can point. I can just ignore that fact and enjoy the music...until they insist on shoving it into their music

Yep. Im not sure what the set list will be but im hoping its a lot more old songs than new.
 
I saw Jason isbell play Monday night and it was Awesome. Dbt, isbell, sturgill, etc. can get pretty lib but can’t write them off. I don’t like every single song but do like the majority.
 
Isbell and David Crosby played Ohio and it was pretty wild.

I can’t get past the lyrics. It’s like telling a lie so many times one starts to believe it.

A long time ago I told myself "who gives a flying fuck what a musician or movie star thinks about politics, they live in a completely different world" and ever since then been good. I mean I bet a lot of people here sing along to some ultra left wing ratm songs, why worry about it.

For me, it has to do with the demographic to which they cater. If you target the blue collar working man, don't undercut him with your politics.
 
I hate to say it... But fuck them. As much as I like their music, I will not support them ever again. When you use your game and platform to spew your political beliefs, be prepared to piss off some of your fans.

Thankfully Jason Isbell has not hung Black lives Matter shit on the stage at his shows.

This is Murica... Do not get me wrong, I am not going to talk shit on what you believe, but do not put it in people's face
 
If ronnie van zant can write a song that is anti 2A and still be one of the greats, I can deal with white mans world and ramon cassiano. Probably gonna hit cabo fish tacos before the show.

Yea I think we are too.

White mans world really isn’t my cup of tea but other songs I really like. He wrote that song as a wealthy sober new father.... I don’t much care for the song but can’t fault him for it.

Just jam the ones you like and skip the ones you don’t.
