Looking for ideas .
I found this pic on the web, it's the rear mount on the fender.
This ties it in underneath the fender, with poly bushings.
These can be made with an old trackbar, although this one appears to be tubing.
I am planning on doing this & something like post #3 for the forward mounts.
I'll use body bushings for those connections.
pardon the noob question but...
what is the point of using a soft connection (bushing) to tie in a cage? isnt it supposed to be hardmounted to the frame? wouldnt a bushing crush under the load of a rollover and exert worse non-linear loads into the mount?
Makes it WAY easier to remove (paint/repair/change) and the bushing helps dampen any vibes (if you're worried about noise in a Jeep )
Also, the loads of a low speed rollover are not that huge, just a lot more than sheetmetal can stand. Bushings stand the forces in control arms, which are higher forces than most rollovers in our sport.pardon the noob question but...
