I need to get the hood repainted on the '99 TJ...

only quote I got was ~$600 at Wilburn, ain't no way I'm paying that...

before I go check with a Peaches/Econo/etc, I figured I'd check to see if anybody here did that kind of work on the side...

I could bring just the hood, so space wouldn't be a big problem for you...

the clear coat is peeling up, but the paint is fine...wondering if it might even be a possibility to wet sand the clear off, and just respray clear coat keeping the factory paint...

sounds good...I'll go get a pic, just so you can see what we're dealing with...

lovely chrysler paint... i've seen many a 94-01 ram like that.

I take classes at CPCC, but haven't taken my paint and refinishing 2 class yet. I could see what one of the instructors would do it for, but you'd probably come out cheaper with doing it in the private booth.

It has a salvage title...was wrecked with just 400 miles on it...

I'm assuming the "repair" wasn't done right...but maybe it is factory Chrysler paint...

ah. have you considered a junyard hood? might be able to come out cheaper, plus i'm sure you could probably sell that one to someone on pirate or some place that's either rolled theirs or wants one for a buggy.

no...but I might call around some this week...

there are several around, and they also just opened a u-pull-it yard right down the street...wonder what the odds are they have a color match...

Try the shop on Kannapolis Parkway on your left after you get off 85 Greg. (don't remember the name) They did my dad's car fairly reasonable. Now if you don't care about orange peel here and there I'll do it :) . I used to paint fiberglass boats and steeples like 20 yrs ago but you have to do it everyday to be good and efficient!

We have a full PPG Certified sprayroom. PM if you want a quote

ah...the advantages of having two TJ's, and one sits during the week while I drive the work truck:

Glad you were satisified Greg. Hate I didnt get to meet ya but I was chasing turkeys.

Shop name is Corley Body Works, Hiddenite NC. We mainly do classic restoration/ street rods but we empty at the time so we could slide Greg in quick. Well sorta empty except for the 69 Charger 440 that will be Gary's (b in law) new ride :D

If anyone needs some work just PM me. We strive to do it EXACTLY how you want it. No BS just good value for your money.
