I have a 40x60x14 building arriving soon and I am not happy with the contactor that I was going to use so he is getting fired and I need some help getting this building erected. If me and my buddies were 30 years younger we would do it ourselves. Any leads would be great.

Agree 100% on the 30 years younger part. It wore me out just watching the 4 guys put mine up (about same size). Took several days. I could do it now....but months/years instead of a few days.

I’m 33 and steel erections are still a thing for me. Hope this helps.

Tom,
I've got a contractor I work for that one of the PEMB manufactures has been chasing for years to work/sell for them. I'll see if he knows someone to travel up your way. What kind is it?

Thanks John. Its a red iron I beam building from General Steel.

Who were you using? There's a group in Marion that does it, but I don't have any first hand experience with. I do know some contractors in the area and I'd be willing to lend a hand anyway I can.

I contacted pro erectors in Marion. They won’t do residential. Any other leads would be great.

My contact said something similar may happen with his guy. He does all commercial work (nearly all commercial building are the way yours is though) and your may be smaller than they want to deal with. He is going to get back with me..... Labor right now is difficult to find currently. They crew that he uses built Brad Keselowski's shop up VERY quick. 36,000SF in less than 2 months IIRC.
I did ask him to see if someone might do it on the side but they usually travel and work 6 days a week. I'll PM or text you when I hear something

Do you need foundation work done as well or just install of the building? Electrical or mechanical needs?

How quickly do you need the work done?

Is any work done yet? Are permits pulled or no?

The building is red iron with columns and I beams, nothing is 20 ga.

I'll be that guy... @marty79 may can help. If it takes him 2months to construct, that's the perfect career length for him!

Just joking John! But maybe you can help or know someone
I wish I could, but little far for me. Thanks for the thought. Hope your doing well Mike

Might try contacting Landmark Builders.
30 years ago when I put up steel buildings, the company I worked for subbed from them.
If nothing else they may be able to give you some names.
