If so....how good are ya w/ carbs? Old ones? ( late 80s)

PM me please!

Matt, call me sometime. I'm having some luck with mine. If you can do a Weber, you can do a Keihin! If I ain't got the answer, I work with a Harley mechanic. What's the problem, anyway?

Whole different carb.
Hi-Flo 40mm Kiehin.
4 adjustments.
Idle, air mix, accelerator pump stroke, float level.

Stumbles ( hesitates, whatever ) bad right off idle. Runs like a raped ape from 2-4 grand.

Ideas?

Matt

Richen up the bottom end. Does it have a thunderslide kit or something in it? You might want to lengthen the pump stroke a little to get it to kick in a little earlier. Aside from that, back out the idle mix a quarter and see if it gets better. Tweek the timing up a degree or two, and see what happens there. Also, how would you know what a raped ape runs like?

They are around ....everywhere. Have you ever seen one?
Thats cuz they're that fast! .........

Nope, this a bone stock early Sportster Screamin' Eagle carb.
I think it may already have bigger jets. I'm gonna pull it out and look at it and work on it today.
I'm thinking I may just start lookin for a CV.

But this one was a freebie. :(
