The balancing job the last tire shop did on my TSL's is crap so I am looking at breaking the beads and throwing in some airsoft to see if that can cure it. Would really rather not pay a shop that much to do just a little bit of work. Anybody here have a machine or the tools to break the bead that would let me use it?

Lay the tire on the ground, let all the air out, and drive over the sidewall with another vehicle.

Yeah, all you need to seat and debead tires is a hi-lift, compressed air, and a couple of pry bars. Actual tire spoons might be better, but any pry bar will work.

I must warn you: It will make a man out of you. So if that's not something you're in to, you can just take it to NTB or whatever and let them do it for you.

Hi lift works all the time...

its the most dangerous tool you could own, why dont you have one?

Waiting on you to buy me one, come on!

Well now it sounds like it is a challenge.

that does sound like work... put the hook of the hi-lift in the receiver of your truck and place the tire under it... take the tailgate off the truck if you care about it. No pry bars needed.

Oops forgot the rest of the post, I got one of those and put it on the stem then pushed it in. Put bbs in hole then pull stem back and refill with akr

Shoot me a PM. I'll drive over with my truck and a hi-lift this weekend and we should be able to break them no sweat. I have time tomorrow (Saturday).

I used a sledge, a tire iron, and an engine hoist when I swapped from the iroks to the Creepies.

60% of the time, it works every time.

You can use mine

I swung by Josh's place yesterday afternoon. We (to be fair...HE) broke 8 beads, cleaned a bunch of bead trash out, replaced 4 valve stems and remounted...before 2 of us could kill a 6-pack. Sure...I've done the hi-lift trick on a trail and the cam-strap to re-seat it...but...when a man says he has a tire machine and offers you to swing on by...well...I'd swing on by! Thanks again @karatejosh !!!!!!!!
