anybody remember watching this when you was younger?

Loved that show. One hell of a lot better than the outdoors tv crap on today.

Met him a few times at random places.
 
I'm curious if others did outdoor shows the same way he did.
Stumbled on him one sunday afternoon.Two of us were looking permission to walk a field with metal detectors lookin a confederate camp. Nice white sand field that was bordered by Contentnea creek. It was his field with his hanger at his house but the landing strip had houses on it.He gave us permission but no camp.
Guess somebody hung on to some copies of his show. He kept all the hard copies and film he took through the years in the hanger and water got them and ruined them. I was cruisin youtube and decided to search Southern Sportsman instead of "big titty japanese girls on trampolenes" like I normally do.
 
I have a couple of his books, full of hand drawn maps and directions to great fishing, hunting areas and recipes for fish and game. Liked his show a lot.
 
Good find! Anyone remember when he swore off ever buying a brand of vehicle on air because it broke down on him and would take a couple weeks to get parts?
 
Sorry doesn't ring a bell.Must have been on cable and we didnt have cable until the mid 90's.We did have Cas Walker though.

The Catch One hes referring to was a strip club in Knoxville that's right on the side of the interstate.If you've been to Windrock you've drove right by it.
