Anyone a notary?

Looking far a notary in the Davison/Randolph county area.

Purchased a trailer on a Sunday. Didn't worry about a notary because I've always had someone who could do it. Now I found out school system employees are no longer allowed to notarize DMV documents. Really don't care to drive all the way back to Matthews just to sign a paper. Completely legitimate transaction. Picked up the trailer at the address on the title. Saw the drivers license of the owner with matching name and address before signing.

Wait - so you're the buyer, and now you have the title and the seller's signature, but the seller is in a different place?
If thats the case you'll have a difficult time finding somebody to notarize. The point of the notary is to protect he seller, not the buyer, and as such they pretty much always require the seller to be there in person, even if the buyer isn't. Otherwise how do they know you didn't forge the seller's signature?

If the seller still has the title, they can go to a bank and have them notarize their signature, then they'll inter-office mail it to one near you to pick up. I've sold multiple cars this way.

That sounds odd. My wife works for Randolph Co. schools and notarizes stuff every week. Now that being said, she won't do it unless the people are in front of her.
They have been allowed to in the past, but are now not allowed to notarize items pertaining to DMV Documents.

It's only fraud if you get caught.
