My contract will be ending in August. I am currently with sprint and want to go with Verizon. I am really wanting to wait until quad core phones are released. I know there are a few international phones that will more than likely come to that states but I can't find any confirmed phones coming to verizon.
Anyone know of any phones coming late summer/fall that will be quad core?

I have the bionic and very impressed. The 4g phones take a sim card and mine gets reception anywhere there is any kind of signal.

Droid RAZR 4gLTE is great. Ive never had an issue with it.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

I got a droid bionic 3 or something a guy wasnt using and needed cash but i use it for camera/video not as a phone lol hell its newest droid out i guess!?

I knew a guy that worked at Verizon for a while when the Iphone was coming out. Couldn't pry information out of him. I got the impression he honestly didn't know.

If I was running the show at a business like that I would not let anyone know what was coming down the line. Its all about sales. If somebody knows a better product will be here in a month or two they will hold off buying. Same person may buy one phone and then buy the new one two months later. Bam, more sales and more padding for the wallet.

Personally I think they develop technology, don't release it at once, and then trickle it into the market in steps to maximize profit.

Uh, yeah. This is a pretty well known fact.
That, and the carriers will only sell certain phones at certain times so they don't have different "price segments" competing against one another. And what REALLY gets me is when they dictate features to be limited/disabled by the MFRs to effectively downgrade the phone so it won't compete w/ another one etc.

To the OP - in all seriousness, why do you need a quad core phone? Jezus man the top dual cores now have more computing power than this old laptop. Unless you're going to be doing some serious work w/ the phone, that's just extra power sucking up battery time. And when they come out, you're gonna pay plenty for it, too.

X2. I don't see a quad core phone being anything but marketing hype or something to brag about having. The need to put more into making sure phones work right instead of trying to top the previous phones with more useless BS.

I don't really need it....I also don't need internet on my phone, but its nice to have....I just really love new technology in phones and just wondered if anyone was into it like me and knew some confirmed rumors about some nice phones coming this year.

Also too, features like 1080p video playback, beats audio, gorilla glass, and kevlar built into the phone is nice to have.....

Samsung Galaxy Nexus has all of that, and Verizon just dropped the price. By Aug it will be pretty affordable I'm sure. Although pretty much any higher-end phone will.

Honestly I don't think the 4gig limit is a big deal, that's a shitple of data.

I am on day 20 of the billing cycle and am at 6.4 GB, BUT, I do not have home internet either. I play Pandora when I am in the basement, use it to watch netflix movies sometimes (through HDMI to TV), internet, etc.

On a side note, I hear Verizon is not going to allow people to keep unlimited data after sometime in July, UNLESS they already have a 4g phone before then (and were already grandfathered with unlimited data). I just got Rebecca a 4g phone for that reason, I'd rather pay the $$ now for a new phone and have unlimited data on both phones than have them limit it to 4gb or whatever they set it at.

Well my dad has an Altell grandfathered into Verizon after they bought them out. I am thinking about going on my dads plan. I don't use that much internet anyways, so having 4gb is plenty for me...I don't use pandora or watch movies from netflix. Plus with Sprint....there 3G service is TERRIBLE. It is so freaking slow, the 4g isn't really available in my area except for certain parts and it drains the battery so much....I would rather pay a little more for a little less data and actually be able to enjoy and download apps and update apps without it taking so long.

So YOU're the reason the rest of us are getting f-cked on our rates. Thanks a bunch. :flipoff2:

I pay the same $30 for data as everyone else, just got lucky and got a smartphone back before they went to the 2gb limit. :)

Me too.
The carriers keep saying that the reason they have to jack the rates for everybody is to cover the increased cost from "the few really high users".

I figure I paid for it for a year and wasn't able to use it (probably less than 1gb/ most months because 3g service at home was horrible), so I'm just making up for it. We actually cancelled TWC as well and are using just the phones. 4g service is still not very good, but MUCH faster than 3g so that makes up for it, it's faster than TWC was though.

I've never had anyone at a verizon store tell me the rates were higher because of people that use it alot. That is BS anyways, for every one person that might use it ALOT (like over 10gb/month) there are probably 5 that only use it sparingly.
