Anyone dealt with Rudy's Diesel Performance in Durham?

I live around Chapel Hill and need to have some work done on my 12v Dodge before I take it on a long trip... need the timing set, valve clearance adjusted, might as well get 60lb valve springs while I'm in there, etc.

Has anyone dealt with this business before? I'm the kind of person that does all my own work on my truck but this job is just not something I have the tools for and I am not comfortable doing it myself. I want to make sure I leave my truck with someone that will get the job done right.

If ya'll have any other recommendations that'd be great as well, preferably somewhere thats not more than an hour out of Chapel Hill.

Thanks,

Dennis

Yes, Aaron is a super good dude. His mechanics are very good and even though they're know for their very fast 6.4 they know diesel's pretty darn well. You'll be in good hands.

They are a good set of guys. A lot of people on HPJ have used them (including my friends) and have nothing but great things to say about them. Plus they have a ford that hauls ASS! Mid 9s in the quarter mile, pretty crazy to see it.

I've never heard anything but good things come of them. They are mostly Ford, but I'm sure they could fix you up on that Cummins.
BTW I witnessed a shake down run on their single cab 6.4 one night around midnight on 85, I was heading back to school, I'm running 75-80 and I see it blast down the on ramp, fly past me and right off the next exit :driver: Definitely was quick.

I called today and apparently they don't work on 12vs... any other recommendations on places around the area to take my truck?

Thanks,

Dennis

Olee Poole - www.powerbypoole.com

One of the OG diesel performance shops of NC; he can handle it for sure. Spence & I have been to his shop for parts/etc. and he's been nothing but professional & courteous.

Heard great things about Poole, but 2 hours away is a bit far. I can't find any shops around here that do that kind of work... I even tried calling one of the dealers in Durham about having the timing set, when I asked about how much it would cost to get the timing done the guy who answered the phones answer was "uhhhhhhh I don't know", then about 5 second of silence in which he apparently expected me to answer it for him, then said he would have to get his diesel tech to call me back which of course he never did.

Some more searching brought up "Lees Diesel Performance" which is apparently in Siler city which isn't too far away... might give them a call tomorrow.
