anyone ever replace the inside cool in a carrier heat pump?

I need to replace the upstairs coil, and am trying to figure out how much it will cost.
Got a quote for 1250, trying to figure out if it could be cheaper, or what.
I don't have the part number in front of me, but will figure it out at lunch or this evening.
Anyone ever done the work themselves, then had someone recharge it?

I had one put in last year about this time. Mine was a 2.5 ton unit w/ R22 freon. I think $1250 is what I had in mine. Anything R22 is being phazed out so you will pay a premium right now. R22 freon went from $170 a jug to over $400 since January.

On a side note I just had a complete 2T goodman system installed in a rental house for $3000 so looking back I probably should've just replaced mine all together.

My unit was a Carrier also.
