I was looking at your torque converter today at Chris's. I think some of your problem may be the spacers your running on the converter. The center of the converter was not engauged in the end of the crank at all. At least it shows no signs of it. That would of thrown things off balance a good bit. Very well could have caused a bearing to spin. Just something to consider. Hate to see you go through that again.
Interesting! That's a good point about the torque converter mating with the crank. You could just machine a crank spacer to fit it and keep the same setup. As long as it's centered with the crank, it should work right?
