I'm back

Hey 66bronco, I'm about to have somebody put my new clutch in. Want to have A professional, do the job. Narrowed it down to McClean's garage, or precision automotive. have you had experience, with either of these? Normally I would put the clutch in, but I don't have time right now, & I would have to do it in my gravel backyard. Also how long ago did you live @ 102, know any neighbors?:wheel:

I live in Sharon/York just south and east of ya.

McCleans are some decent dudes...dont know precision.
You have 1 hell of a tranny man in town out on 55, name is Tim,cant remember his last name (damn beer)

Thats close!

Hey SkyHiK5, Thanks for the info, I stopped in @ McCleans aA while back & they seemed like real nice folks. The guy around @ precision, checked over A used car, my son had bought. Nice guy & very thorough. Looked over A race car he was building, good fabricator! Hope I don't need any trans work, real soon, but may want to change gears. Maybe he can do that, sometime in the future. You are close to where I live, let me know if you are gonna be up this way, on A weekend & you can stop by.:wheel:

mccleans and precision are both good shops from what i hear. i don't have any experience with them. do all my own work.
skyhik5- his name is tim stewart. he is good from what i hear also.
it has been about 2 years since i lived on pickens. did not really meet anyone. worked to much.

Tim Stewart, thats him.

last I checked he got $300 for a bench job on a th350 and $400 for a 700r4 and warranted them for a year. Not the quickest guy in town, mainly because he stays so damn busy, but awesome work.

66bronco, were you teh guy I got the trailer axles from (for Chip upnover) a year or so back?

There are several wheelers in or near Clover. Several of us try to get together and wheel as often as possible. Myself (1 ton YJ and pretty well built CJ7), Robert Taylor (rtaylor) (buggy on Unimogs w/cummings 4 cyl diesel), Jeff Webb(Webinator) (tubed CJ on propane), Jeff Rhinehart (73 CJ5, Jr. Dean (YJ w/454 and Dynatrac axles, and a CJ5 built) is our usual group. Looking forward to Bryan getting his Bronco done so he can join us sometime. We need to get a Clover ride together.

I live off of Parham Road between 55 and 49.

the bronco is coming along. just got to finish the rear 4 link and do some wiring and will pretty much be done.

McLeans got the job

Hey Yellowjeep, I heard about you from some nice folks over @ Grace4x4. A few others too. not to good at remembering names. I dropped off my Heep at McLeans today. they said I could pick it up, on Monday, or Tuesday afternoon at the latest. I was going to have Precision do it , but he was booked up for two weeks. Hated to do it, but I'm way too anxious to wait that long. Two years of babying the clutch, is long enough. Jeep withdrawal syndrome, got me at about 20 yards off their lot. It was A long walk home! But at least I'll git-r-back on Monday, hopefully. Anyway I'm looking forward to meeting/hanging out with y'all. My wife, & kids keep me pretty busy, but I will make some time. Just A few loose ends to tie up on the jeep yet. The winch is important, since I don't have any traction devices, other than the NP231. (no lockers or anything) Still waiting on the winch plate.:wheel: Any body know where to get Anderson connectors ( winch power plugs) ? Need 175 amp, for 4 gage wire. gonna check Fogle's electric, & forklifts Unlimited on Monday.

live in rock hill but hang out in york and clover. I have a 91 3/4 ton suburban-white. 456 gears, 8in springs, 37in swampers. daily driver but still want to add a few more things

Hang out!

Hey Burban, I get down that way about 2 or 3 times A month. My son has friends down there as well, he's down there every day, as he attends York tech. I think it would be pretty cool to get A bunch of us wheelers together once in A while. Even if it was just to hang out in A parking lot somewhere. Just to talk, tell wheeling stories, show each other our rides. As long as it didn't get big enough to draw A large crowd, I doubt we'd get hassled too much. In Clover, Food Lion's lot is big, & McD's is next door. Piggly wiggly, is good too, Hardee's is next door. I wouldn't mind checking at the police station, to see if it's going to be A problem with the fine folks over at law enforcement. If we kept the volume down, I don't see that it should be A problem. Then again, that may be the reason I don't see these type of gatherings. I have only been here A year, so I am not familiar with local ordinances. Friday or Saturday nights seem logical for this type of thing. Maybe once or twice A month. Let me know what y'all think.:bounce2:

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have a local meet and greet for the Rock Hill, York, Clover, etc. bunch of guys. I see some nice rigs around and wonder if any of the drivers are on this board. We could also meet at the Sonic in York. I've seen them have some hot rod and motorcycle type gatherings. My wife knows the manager there. She could probably check with her to see if it would be OK.

SONIC WOULD BE COOL...
CLOVER PD, IS KNOWN FOR BEING TOUGH TO DEAL WITH.

permission; always better!

Hey Webb, thats A great Idea anytime you have permission, it's A good thing! I'm sure Sonic would appreciate the extra business too. That location is good because it's A little closer to Rockhill, than Clover is. Also Skyhik5, I think that If we approached C.P.D. first, they might be A little more receptive, than if we just started showing up in great numbers. But really, anywhere nearby that we can get away with it legally, is fine with me.:gitrdun:

Wife said she could check into it for us. I'll let ya'll know what she finds out. I really don't see it as a problem though unless we all showed up at the Sonic and nobody ordered a thing. Don't really see that happening though.
