I lost the battle with the @#%&*%$@$%*&% painted torx bolts on my windshield hinges, so I need to extract 3 of 4 torx bolts. I believe they are T40s.

I'll bring my cordless drill, if someone has the extractors, if not I'll just hafta wait I suppose.

TIA.

What I have, is a set, that fits on a 3/8 drive. I'll bring them to the Work Day, Sat. U may want to clean the recess out with a pic, or something. Also find, that it helps to tap the tool in with a hammer, to be sure it's seated. Should be at Outpost, before 9, in a 79 red CJ-7 Golden Eagle.

I got a set of those fancy grabit bits. I'm going to wait till after the work day. So I can maybe track down some replacement pan head crews with allen heads instead of torx bits.

I figured I'll need my own set to tackle the torx on the tailgate when I convert mine to a drop down, so i bit the bullet now on this "project".

This "project" I'm installing some used windshield light brackets, and got one bolt out and they arent long enough to hold the bracket.

Failing that I'll get regular old bolts with washers.

Thanks Rodney.

Sad to say t but sounds like drilling through the head of the bolt and pb blaster to extract the threaded portion out. I have had to do that alot on my montero. it seems they put bolts and screws on that they did not intend for them to come off.
