Anyone going to the 600 Festival?

I'm going to see Gary Allen tomorrow night. Maybe Travis Tritt on Sat.

If nothing else the people that show up are always interesting!

They have three stages, each with a different genre of music. One country, rock, r&b/hip hop. There are food vendors and drink sales. All alcohol buyers have to get a wrist band first at an ID station. LOTS of people and free live music. If you don't like large crouds stay away, but what do you expect when its free? I've seen Tracy Byrd, Sara Evens, Rodney Atkins, Joan Jet, etc.

Will be there all 3 nights. Diamond Tower Terrace in Turn 2 for the 600. Should be a good time as usual. They have some good shows this year and for a change they arent all playing at the same time.

I believe the 600 festival is the one downtown, not at the track. There are events there, but don't plan to see a concert except maybe just before the race Sunday.

Sounds like John Force is going to be firing up one of his cars just before the race to promote the new strip. It would be awesome if he did a burn out down pit road!

After sitting through the most absolute boring all star race I could have imagined, i sold our tix. Not sitting through 600 miles of that crap. I have been for 10 years and am seriously considering not going back next year.

I would not bother going to the track unless you are actually going to the race. Nothing much to do except tailgate.

Speed Street is a big music/vendor festival with multiple stages and different acts every couple hours. It gets very crowded Fri/Sat after 6 p.m. or so. Actually difficult to walk down the middle of a completely closed Tryon St. I think its worth going to if you've never been (its free right). The Uptown bars are pretty crazy every night but you need to be 21 to get into most of them.

I got some Miller Light VIP passes from Cans the other night. Not sure what that gets me but if there is free beer I'll be there most of the day on Saturday.

I'll be there for sure on friday. After spending all day on the lake saturday there's no telling where I'll end up that nite. Speedstreet can be rough, I lost $90, a leather REEF flip flop and my pride there two years ago:beer::shaking::lol:

I help out with Raceway Ministries in the Rock City campground at the racetrack off and on. Was there last Saturday, will be there tomorrow but not Sunday, free breakfast/lunch for you if you stop by, stuff for your kids to do, "wrestling" with George South's group tomorrow at 11:00, free snacks/water.

Saw a nice jeep in the camground with a Galloway's banner, you on this board?

I will be there tonight. Anyone know the best way to get in there coming from Greensboro down 85?

If you're going to the speedway;
Since you don't know the "back ways" it's either Broughton Smith Blvd off of 85 or go down 29 (getting on it off of 85 in Concord) or get over on 49 and be on the backside of the speedway.
No real heavy traffic tonight because it's just an outlaw race at the dirt track.

Downtown Charlotte for the bands and such, drive toward the towers or follow signs to Panther Stadium - it'll get you close. Doubt Jr. would be at his bar tonight though...

Again, there is Speed street downtown, where all the sites are, and racing going on at the track. Two completely different attractions. Just be sure you know where you are headed.
