I've found a pretty good deal on a 2015 F250 with the 6.2L with 18k miles and would like to see what you guys that have them think about this truck/engine combo. It's an XLT crew cab 4x4 with the 6.5' bed.

Have several of these trucks here at the house. The 6.2 is a torquey engine moves pretty quick and towes well, I've often used the 250 with 6.2 to tow my old Rubi does it pretty good while getting about 10mpg. We pull thousand gallons water barrels with these trucks and I would recomend pulling no more than about 11 or 12k. Best mpg I've ever managed was around 13 on highway empty.
How often do you plan on towing, how much weight? Honestly the 6.2 doesn't seem as strong to me as the ecoboost engines.

Thanks for the info @anvilrubi! I will not be pulling over 10k pounds but would like a little better mpg when empty. The truck I have now gets about 13 mpg while empty on the highway. Not really looking for an Ecoboost but they seem to be a workhorse.

ram with the hemi will get ya 18+ empty the 150 with 5.0 around 17 both strong engines. New gmcs have lost some of there reliability and they don't have a lot of new technology. If you have anymore questions I'll try to help ya. Past couple years I've had 5.9 and 6.4 hemis, run all the ford engines, and all the gms

I am still getting about 17.5mpg average combined, touch 20 mpg at times with my '14 1500 Chevy. 5.3 and 3.42 axle gears tows 9600# max, can be had with 3.73s to get into the 11k range (expect lower mileage). If you don't tow often I think it is a great option. Lots of folks said that the new direct injection would have issues pretty quickly but mine is over 75k and runs as strong as it did when brand new. The quality of fuel definitely makes a difference with the mileage. I just towed up to Harlan again a couple weeks ago running about 14.5k gross and while a couple grades on US-421 required some screaming the truck did the trip admirably. Again I would not do that day in and day out but when called upon the truck delivers. Since it is a half ton the brakes are the only thing that are not 100% confidence inspiring but as long as my trailer brakes are doing their job then it is not really an issue.

I've got a 2015 F-250 with the 6.2L

Just pulled 1700 miles round trip with trailer to Rhode Island, via I-81/78.

Average 13 MPG cruising at 70-75 mph and typical Northeastern stop-and-go traffic.

It's a beast of a motor. So far very happy with it. On-tap power when needed.

Pulling about 4000 lbs via a 12' enclosed trailer. Not so much the towing weight as the wind-resistance for MPG reduction.
