Just wondering if anyone here is or knows about Underground locating. I have a buddy who can get me a job at Consolidated Utilities until I can find something better. I have no experience in the field, but he is teaching me as a go along, I might be having an interview on Thursday so I need to knowledge up before hand. Cool thing is, I get a company car, laptop, cell phone, full benefits and a bonus every month have 90 days.

well congrats. i hope you land it. i know youve been looking for a while.

Thanks alot. I hope I get it to. I just want to nail the interview and really impress them, So that I can start off on the right foot. I am really looking forward to not having an office to go to everyday and work by myself.

Its easy......usuallly more driving than anything. Most of the guys that I see do it are beyond lazy. They treat it like a government job..... good luck though, it usually pays ok for the amount of work you do

I went to high school with a complete dumb ass and that’s what he does for a living so I don’t think that it would be to hard.

I have to deal with locates on a daily basis. Here are some tips from a customer:

treat your job like a job and do it professionally

don['t just put your first marks 18 inches off the asphalt and then every 3 feet to the right-of-way.

mark fiber cable as such.Don't leave us guessing.

Your actions doingt this job can either make or break a contractor.Be friendly and honest with them even if they are an ass.I'm on a first name basis with the guys here in Wayne county and treat them with respect. They do it back for the most part but they have one that will take short cuts and thus puts alot of work on me and my guys.I utter dirty words when I find out he has located for me.

good luck!
