Anyone know Dodge d44 front axles???

I've got a d44-8f front axle. From what i'm told it's pulled from a 78 dodge 3/4ton truck. It's a 5lug w/ 6bolt flange and open knuckle style, lockouts on hub. I'm needing to replace the spindle and can't find anyone that has them. Any help???
 
Hey man...it was on the buggy I got from jeremy. Did you help build it or anything??? I called him and he said from what he can remember it was out of 78 dodge 3/4 ton??? But that's not turning up any good info to locate a new spindle. Any help woudl be greatly appreciated!!!!
 
iirc the dodge and chevy spindles are interchangeable... I know when Nate (JPScout) and his bro were doin his dodge, they used a chevy spindle, but cant recall if it was large bearing or small... he might chime in here, or you could PM him...

I've got some more info. On the left side of diff cover housing(looking at the axle head on) i've got these #
620121r

On the right side of diff housing #
44-8f

On the backside of diff housing #
060

On the side of the pass side knuckle #
620121 R

I was able to pull the bearing off the spindle that was closest to the knuckle, seal, flange #
LM104949

Does this help tell anyone what year axle I have???
 
just stumbled across something similar to this the other day for dodge 1/2 hubs...not sure what the difference is between the dodge 1/2 ton and the 3/4 outers, but the 1/2's use chevy big bearing spindles. Pull one of your inner bearings and compare it to the p/n to that of large bearings. I know the little inner bearing is 706110X, i believe the large inner bearing is 706074X (someone i'm sure will correct me if i'm wrong on that)

I snapped this quick pic of my spindle. The smaller outter bearing on this one was shot when I pulled it and wasn't able to read the numbers. I did pull the larger inner bearing and these are the numbers I got LM104949

I haven't pull the driver side hub yet to look at those bearings to see if I could read those or not.


 
looks like a chevy large bearing spindle. The p/n matches the lm big bearing. Some where I have the specs on the big bearing spindle but I can't find them right now.
