Been looking for building kits and came across Strouds building supply out of Morganton nc. They have a steel truss kit with 6X6 poles. Seems to be a good deal just wanted some input if anyone had some.
 
I don't know anything about that company, but I used the steel trusses and 6x6 posts for my building and I'm very happy with how it turned out. When I did the math, it was the most economical way for the space I wanted and the ceiling clearance. Also, I found my trusses used on craigslist and saved a bunch of money so you may want to look there too.
 
Theres another place called south mountain builder supply that sales the trusses as well. They're just right down hwy 18 out of morganton. Ive heard of several people using them and they were happy and said the price was one of the better they found.

Those are neat. They say two guys can put them up in two days. I wonder how true that is. Seems like getting started would be a PITA if you hadn't done it before. Getting laid out, square, getting the first few frames up, etc.

Yea I've done a bit of research doesn't look to bad found several informative videos on YouTube about backer boards and getting setup. I hope to find out how bad it is lol will see what the tax man brings and hope to have a build thread to follow.
 
I was gonna build my garage with them but lucked up and got a free garage lol. They will span 12 foot I was gonna build a 24x24 and 3 trusses was gonna cost $900. Seems high to me when you figure in buying all the 2x6s. But for going the pole shed route I think it would be the way to go.
 
adam u beat me to it. R&R supplies all over. my guess is he should be able to give you a smoking deal
