anyone live near the Amtrak station in Charlotte?

I realize the Amtrak station is pretty much downtown, but does anyone live within a few minutes of it? I'm going back east for the Holidays (24th-27th) and kinda hate to leave my (even crappy) truck parked at the train station for longer than I have to. Any advice or help is appreciated.
 
The train station is in somewhat of an industrial district and is always teaming with "questionable" characters. If you can find someone to park it elsewhere or you park it and get a ride from them that would be best. I won't be in town otherwise I would offer a hand.
 
Could be a bit more pricy, but one option would be to find a garage or some other place to park it (a medical center or similar comes to mind), then take a cab from there to the station and vice versa.
 
I live in Myers Park about 2 miles from the city center. You can park your truck on my driveway if you like.
Taxi to the station will be about $12-$15 at a guess...Hell IF it fits into my schedule I'll drop you off or pick you up if you like.
