I need a motor pull out and one put back in. both motors will be same year
1998 XJ 4.0 auto, Or if you pull it rebuild it for under a 1k ..

Jon, pull the pan & find the bad rod bearing. Just replace that. I mean hell, it's a trail toy right?

Pull the oil pan, find the sloppiest rod on the crank. pull the cap & replace the bearing. I used an old strip of leather in a jeep flat head once. Lasted about 2 years..

It's really about as easy as Jeff said. Hardest part is probably finding the torque specs in the back of your Haynes manual.
