I lost drive to my 14 bolt today. When I put my t-case in neutral my driveshaft free spins. It's was all of a sudden and makes no noise. My guess is that I sheered the pinion. It's new, so maybe manufacturer defect?

I had the same results with my 14 bolt after I broke an axle shaft and grenaded the Detroit. I thought I had broken the pinion too. I definitely want to see the carnage pics!

I've destroyed two in my old work truck if that counts...oh wait @CasterTroy may be listening :D
I've worked that mule so hard it's puked a steering pump, 2 batteries, a lift pump solenoid, drivers door window track and handle mechanism, (4) O2 sensors, and damn near ripped the tailgate off. Had it not been for @WARRIORWELDING it'd be GONE

But no 14 bolt issues (fingers crossed)

That’s just considered routine maintenance on a Chevy. :D

I stripped the splines out of one side of a mini spool on a 14b. Pinions ok so far LOL

You are working him hard! 2 batteries? Check your ground and positive cables! 02 sensors, the cat is gutted if that makes any difference...But I never had an issue. Replaced pump solenoid myself. other issues are age related... Still is a great truck!
EDIT: tailgate never was right!

Hugh damn skippy!!
Paid for itself 10x over

Bad column switch ground killed the 1st replacement battery (plus bad cell)

For 24yr old truck I'm honestly surprised at the LACK of failures

I took it apart and found the problem. I broke both rear axle shafts! Time to upgrade to 300M.

Are those stock shafts? I've only seen clean shears like that from stockers. All of the 4340 breaks I've seen splinter

Yes, I heard several people say stay stock or go 300m. The cheap chromoly are no better than stock. I have beat on them hard over the years.
