Anyone still using Wachovia? A heads up...

Wachovia is switching to Wells Fargo on the 17th I believe. Not much is changing, but any automatic bill pay you have set up will be taken out up to 5 DAYS before the bill is paid. Just a heads up as I know this is a huge deal....
 
Not disputing anything Mac. Couple months back, I began receiving monthly dividends. Was told to ask Wachovia, if this changeover, would create any problem. Answer was that new account # would be issued, but both old & new #s, would piggy back for several months, ensuring no problems. That's the last I heard.
 
oh yeah everything stays the same except that automatically paid bills can get drafted out up to 5 days before they are due.

To me, not really a huge deal, to others, that can hurt, bad.
 
While I use neither of those banks, stupid stuff like that is why I still write a paper check and mail it. Yes, it takes more time, yes, it costs me a little bit extra, but I have complete control over when the darn thing is paid and I always know what the status of my accounts are since I look at them many times per month while I take care of the bills.

My sister worked for Wells Fargo for a few years, she said they were as backwards as their stage coach mascot.
 
I think, right now, Wachovia needs 2 or 3 days, so going up to 5 definitely makes some difference... I try to schedule them in advance and then consider that money 'gone' immediately, when projecting what else is going on. I also don't use my debit card for much of anything, so my daily balance is pretty static other than bills that automatically draft or that I set up each month.

Maybe. Do you post date the checks and mail them earlier? I was told, once, that either NC or Wachovia, one, doesn't care when the check is dated... once it is in their possession, they can deposit it.
