I have a 99 Jeep XJ ( 4.0 ) and pulled my Distrib. out because it was starting to Make noises. Took it apart and greased the shaft and put it back in.

Well no go!. Im assuming i got my timming off now and i am alittle in to deep. I know about things but timmings isnt one of them,

Would anyone be willing to help me out?. Id give a little bit of money or Beer, or Barter for some plumbing work ( Doing it for 6 yrs. )

I'm located in Winston-Salem, Lewisville.

I'm gonna read up in my chiltons, and attempt it tomarrow. I would rather just for someone who really knows what they are doing to get it done. ( I got tools, and it can be in the garage.)

Thanks Alot!

If you follow step-by-step the procedure in the haynes manual, you should be able to get it right. You've got to have the engine at TDC for #1 piston on compression stroke, and use a a long flat blade screwdriver to line the oil pump up at the right angle, I believe it should be aligned to about the 11 o'clock position. The dist. can only go in one way, and the comp controls the timing, so you've got to have everything else lined up.
