Appalachian 4x4

we're based out of Haywood County but we accept anyone. Look at me! Club meetings are every other week in Canton.

edit: some of the more active guys can give you more info. I just wheel every once in a while.

Chris, i assume you go to asu? There are several good guys up here who wheel but there isnt a club. I still live in boone but im currently between rigs.

I'm part of Appalachian. They are a great bunck of guys to ride with.

Am in the App 4x4 and we welcome everyone. And u dont have to come to the meetings but u can keep up on the app4x4 page on here or on facebook. But if u want to get in just let us know and we can come up with a way to meet up

im realivitly new to boone and ill be looking for some people to ride with as soon as i jeep the jeep done.

that would be cool. few more weekends of work and ill be ready to take the jeep out and see how it does

Hey, I'm at ASU too. Anyone down for going offroading this weekend?? Me and my roommate want to go but I don't know of any places around here and prefer not to get lost AND stuck at the same time. I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty Renegade 4x4, 2 inch lift and a 5 speed manual. My shocks and clutch are pretty worn out so I'm not looking for anything too crazy, just something to do haha

If I didnt work this weekend I'd love to set up a ride. We could all probably run Richlands sometime.

I'm in! I've also heard someone mention Sampson Road being a good spot but I'm not sure if that has changed.

richlands is about 10 min from me but ive never been there, so id be in for that sometime in the future!

is richlands good enough to take a trip from lincolnton to wheel on it
I've done just that several times. You can spend a good 4-6 hours out there if you don't just ride in, turn around, and ride back out. Take some time to ride on the playground areas. Take a lunch or some snacks too.

As i said i have never been there. From what ive read its not very diffacult, but there is a creek crossing or two stuff like that. looks like it takes 1 and a half to 2 hours to ride taking your time. Its up to you, i think some people have some pictures of the trails on here somewhere. just search richland rd.

Like the guys said above we welcome everyone... We make several trips a month. We meet every other Tuesday next when is next week. If you would like to setup a meeting we can meet half way or so

Anyone know anything about a trail off High School Drive, right off 105?? I found one a few days ago when I was out with my roommate, we decided to go up it but ended up coming to a dead end because of trees being down. The trail was only about a foot wider then my jeep with a drop off on one side. If you go looking for it I warn you it will tear your vehicle up but if you find my front license plate, that would be great! I really want to know where it leads to though

Google maps! If I see a "trail" when im out and about I check it out on google maps. Good way to make sure your not going to pop out in someones back yard.

There was 2 trails up there. One circled back down towards 105 9dont know if it actually connected to 105 or not. The other came out down on Wilson Dr but there is condos/townhouses there now. Probably not getting thru on either one.

here is a pic i got from the trip,i wasn't on anything big but i liked the look of the scenery
