SUCKS!!!

Rant over. I'd love to hear opinions from you tech nerds on the windows or android phones. I don't think I'll get another apple product. My battery is close to dead already and I don't use the phone that much

Youtube ios 7 and change some of your settings and it will help ALOT. My phone is actually lasting longer on it....

I remember a few days after a new update the battery would drain. Just stay hooked up to wifi as much as possible and apple will come out with smaller updates to fix some small bugs. I was disappointed at first too but it will get better.

I went from blackberry to iPhone...and I've hated the transition. I had the 4s, now the 5. I always refuse to go through the first wave of updates just because there are always kinks or bugs and it doesn't really appeal to me to have to re-learn how to use my phone. From what I hear the changes/updates are cues from android. My old man updated his 4s, after the update it worked for 3 minutes, then went black. He plugged in, nothing. So he unplugged and let it sit for a couple hours. Plugged it back in and it came back on, worked for a few hours...and then about 8pm last night the apple icon popped up on his screen like when you turn the phone on...and at last check around lunch, it was still locked that way.

I love ios 7...to me its so much smoother and I love the upgrades to the gallery and camera apps. The color choices are a bit meh but, I like it...def think its still a great OS.

Mine locked up once already. I had to hold both buttons down to force it to shut off. I'm not in the know and updated the phone because it said to... Snappy, I'll look into that. Thx

I think it makes a HUGE difference which iPhone you have. I did my 4 and I experienced the same fast battery drain, but others with the 5 say they love it.

Work forces me to use iCrap devices.

I am sticking with six point whatever until they force me to change it.

First off, BACK UP !

Anytime you do a software update on anything you should have what you want to keep backed up. Apple is no different.

I've heard a lot of people touting how they were able to update via wifi and had no issues, that's fine, but it takes 2.9gb of open storage to allow that to happen (4/4s). If you are close to maxed while it is updating, it can cause problems. it's swapping files, give and take, needs room (memory) to do this

I updated 4 iThings Saturday, one of the iPhone 4's bricked, hard boot ( both buttons to shut it down ) then default install of iOS it's a new phone, then DL the backup and it works like a champ.

I down loaded thru iTunes/USB, all but the ATV, took about 30 min after backup don't know why the one phone had issues, but it's fixed. Doing the update thru iTunes it didn't matter how much memory as it used the computer (Mac Mini) as a buffer. Wife's phone had less than 400mb memory left before the update.

It's new and different, I'm still trying to figure out all the stuff, but everything seems to work better. Don't really care for the cartoon look, but whatever.

Our iPhone 4's were sucking down battery ( mine always has ) a few app changes ( a lot of apps are running even though they aren't on the screen ) and it's better.

Just loaded it today. So far it's pretty stable, but I do NOT like the look of the interface. As far as battery drain, make sure your location services is turned off. That drains the battery very fast. If you need GPS or something that requires location services, turn it on for that app and turn it off when done.

You can find it under Settings/Privacy/Location Services.

unless you have a wife that tends to loose her phone on a weekly basis, then Find My iPhone comes in pretty handy, which requires Location services to be on.

you can turn off any apps that access location services ( I leave Find iPhone, Google maps and Weather Channel on ), battery drain on my iPhone 4 is mostly looking for wifi, I have several customers where I have wifi access, as well as our shop, so it's not worth turning it off when I leave the house. just keep a 30pin in the van to charge it as needed.

I have nothing useful to add regarding IOS7, but my Casio Commando running Android lasts 4-5 days on the stock battery. Turn of data and GPS unless you are using them, and you will be amazed. The smartphones have bigger/better batteries than old "regular" phones, but use alot more battery. If you stop the battery drains, and use it mostly like a phone, battery life is great.

Its now an Apple android...io7 is jelly bean.

I thought people bought iPhones because they were simple and easy to use and the battery lasted for three days.

I have a piece of junk busted-ass Droid phone. It turns the wifi and GPS on and off automatically depending on where I am and whether or not the phone needs wifi and/or GPS.

Technology!

What is the ATV? And how to back up an iPhone?

ATV = Apple TV

Back up iPhone thru iTunes, back up stores local or iCloud or both

To me ...
It seems to be running faster.
And battery seems to last longer.
But it's ugly.
Looks like the graphics where designed by a classroom of 12 yr. olds with a pack of construction paper and a glue stick.

That's insulting...... to 12 year olds with construction paper and glue sticks....

Work went to all apple phones. I must say this new apple is the biggest piece of crap compared to my 3 yr old droid

That's what happened to me...went from blackberry to iPhone. I went from 2-3 day battery life, to not making it 6 hours on a charge with the iPhone. If I wanted a corded phone, the old kitchen phone from the Roseann show would be more practical (and yes, I clear the programs, I've used battery doctor, etc etc). I'm probably a bit old school(ish) when it comes to cell phones, all I really care about is: 1) can I call on it. 2) Can I receive a call 3) Can I text/email 4) Can I surf the internet while on the crapper. I don't care about the other 20 tiles that are on my home screen, WTF is passbook, and I haven't met an app I couldn't live without yet.

ya, pretty much. but you can set them to come on and off automatically. I'm actually getting sick of iphone and this OS brought me one big step closer to not getting another. But Mine is provided by and paid for by my company so I ain't complaining too much. :D

Man, Im thinking of switching over to apple when my contract ends....My Galaxy s3 just sucks. its a nice phone but its too gimicky and my wife's iphone is just a breeze to use and does what I want it to when I want it to.
