I have a Frigidaire dryer that is only 15 mo old and is giving an error code 61. Looked it up and it says the voltage input is to high. Anyone know anything about these things? Help appreciated. Thanks.

check the breakers, bet one side is tripped

Yea, flipped breakers, then checked power at the plug with my multi meter, I've got 220. I'm leaning toward the control board on it. I stated taking it apart and found the factory service manual and codes. Says to check the heater relay that's on the circuit board, but I'm having a hard time reading the schematics. But I did check the element and it's getting hot. Idk what else to check. The bs is that we have had it just over a year. Frigidaire sucks. We bought all new appliances a few years ago (stove, above the range micro, fridge) because my wife had to have all matching and the damn microwave and the fridge have also had problems. I'll never buy Frigidaire again.

get the model and serial number, get on http://www.pcappliancerepair.com/index.php or any one of the other parts sites, maybe even google you issue with same info.

I repaired our washing machine when it would go into a high speed wobble on spin, the suspension spring sockets were worn, found new replacements for $55set on Amazon ( cheapest place I found ) all from googling the info. may take some time, but it's a lot cheaper than a $300 +parts service call, cuz you know they aren't gonna have the part on the van...

and for what it's worth, when we bought our Washer, I did get the extend warranty, and it paid for itself, 3 repairs in the 5year span, all requiring parts and return visits, last call was new wash tub ( bad bearing ) and water pump. most all appliances are shit anymore, unless you go to the high end stuff, and even then I'd be suspect.

Actually...

There is a appliance repair group based in Gastonia that is so damn good and cheap I quit trying to fix shit myself. I think they charger a $45/trip charge and they stock the fool out of their vans. We discovered them when I was out of town for works and the dishwasher started pouring water into the floor. They came out same day, didnt have the part, left picked it up, came back installed it and my bill was under $150 parts and labor...I was amazed and have recomended them to other folks..

All I can say is they are under appliance repair in Gastonia and I know they cover Concord... if you decode not to fix it yourself.

With it giving a voltage error and voltage is good that almost certainly points to a circuit board sensing circuit but...Im not an appliance repair guy

Ron, sounds like Advanced Appliance Service. A friend of mines dad owns it, they do good work.

Thanks for the help guys. I think I'll try and find the place in gastonia to come look at it. Im pretty sure that it's the control board, but I hate to waste $120 on a part of I'm not 100% sure.

My folks use a guy in Salisbury, $50 to show up, cost of part, $30/hr and the first hour is free. We don't even try to repair ourselves anymore. I guess he wholesales parts, and if it only takes an hour or two...he's typically cheaper than if we tried grabbing a part from Lowe's. He's replaced belts in their washer, bearings in the dryer, condenser for their fridge, ice maker in the freezer and something recently with the drain in their dishwasher. If you're interested I'll see if I can get his name.

LOL, well, given that onsite repair ( NOT appliances ) is what I do, I am somewhat equipped for the situation, but I am also very leery/aware of " trip "charges and other fees that tend to be injected into a repair. along with some of the other associated costs.
