[Apr 7, 2012] URE pre-Easter run? (Troy, NC)

I'll be in town for Easter, BIL and I are going to ride at URE on Sat April 7th.
Will be in a FJ Cruiser, fully armored, ready for anything. He'll have some new rock guards needing testing.
Anybody be around?
 
Ill be there. My first wheeling trip ever!
Im so excited, and cant wait for it. Were going up friday morning, prolly gonna ride out ATVs most of friday, since we have like 6 other guys with them. they are leaving on saturday, so expect to see me and my dad on the easy trails around friday night or saturday morning.

Gonna be on a red Jeep XJ, armoured, front winch, roof rack with 4 6'' lights.

Luckily, I know the layout pretty good, we have been there 3 times before with the ATVS.

Send me a PM with your phone #, and Ill get up with you on saturday. Would be great to wheel with someone more experienced then I.

Just so we're clear - FJ Cruiser, not a "classic".
Darren Clary. Black '10 FJC w/ mild lift, 33s, awesome M&M front tube bumper, winch, Bud skids, just added tube rockers from Orange Boxx.
 
Well it looks like we're shooting to meet up Outpost at 9am. So we'll be there, post if you wanna meet.
 
if i can get my new front driveshaft in by tomorrow at the latest i plan on trying to hit up uwharrie this weekend.

ive never been so i might get lost on the way.

ill be coming from jacksonville. any tips on how to get there?
 
My groups coming on sat with two old ford f150s and a sami all on 42s plus a bronco on 38s one lonely razor
 
My wife and I will be at the outpost around 10:00AM. We will be on CB channel 4.

Nice meeting and riding with you guys today, sometimes I really miss the NC hospitality.
Darren and I had a blast... I think he's finally getting comfy with just what that FJC can do!

Nice chat with Terry too - those BBQ sammiches are awesome (somehting else I miss about NC...)

Same! I have to say I was impressed with the FJC, with only a leveling kit and 285's it took everything URE had without slipping a tire.
 
Had a great time today at Uwharrie today. Ali Mansour of Peterson's Four Wheel & Offfoad Magazine and a couple of guys were staking out Kodak Rock. They pulled me aside and did a photo shoot of my 4Runner. They said that they will do a two page spread on my rig and will let me know when it gets scheduled to be in print.
 
Fed the Peterson guy's Saturday, Talked for quite while before I knew who they were. They took a few pics of wife and I! Let us know if you see us in the Magazine!
